Choose the service first, then the length. Relaxing, Deep Tissue, and Signature Massage each have different prices, so a useful 60-versus-90 comparison keeps the service type the same. The extra half hour buys appointment time; it does not automatically add Signature rituals to another service.

We are at 5871 Kanan Rd, Agoura Hills, CA 91301, open every day from 10 AM to 9 PM. The current booking system is Booker. Check the service, duration, price, and available start time there before reserving.

Short answer first, because you're busy. Here's the honest version. If you're here to switch your brain off and no single body part is yelling at you, a 60 minute massage is plenty. If you booked because your right shoulder has been a rock for three weeks, or your low back seizes every time you stand up from a desk, book the 90 — and probably a deep tissue session rather than a light Swedish one. That's most of the decision, right there. The rest of this is just the why.

Does the length change how much it helps?

Depends what you mean by "helps." For pure relaxation — lower heart rate, that parasympathetic settle, the good kind of tired — even a shorter session does the job, and the difference between 60 and 90 is comfort and depth, not whether it "works." For an actual complaint like chronic neck or low-back pain, length looks like it matters more. NCCIH puts it carefully: massage therapy may be useful for some pain conditions such as low-back pain and chronic neck pain. Note the hedge — may be useful, not "cures." The dosing research feeding that view found very short sessions barely outperformed doing nothing, while longer sessions repeated over several weeks produced the meaningful improvement. So if you're chasing relief from a real problem, the honest prescription isn't a single 90 — it's longer sessions and coming back. One massage of any length is a lovely afternoon, not a treatment plan.

Two things worth saying plainly. First, massage is comfort care, not a substitute for a doctor — NCCIH's own guidance is to talk with your health care providers to determine if massage therapy is safe for you, and don't use it to put off seeing a clinician about something that needs one. Second, the safety picture is reassuring: NCCIH notes massage therapy appears to have few risks when performed by a trained practitioner. Neither of those changes based on whether you booked the 60 or the 90. Length is a comfort-and-depth choice, not a safety one.

On the "trained practitioner" bit: many California cities require massage professionals to be CAMTC-certified (California Massage Therapy Council) — you're welcome to ask about your therapist's credentials when you book. Nobody minds the question. And if the pressure or the goal is what's really on your mind, our Swedish vs deep tissue breakdown sorts that out before you're face-down and can't discuss it.

When 60 is plenty — and you shouldn't feel talked out of it

Reach for the 90 when the opposite is true: chronic tension you actually want addressed, a first-timer who already knows they love deep pressure, an anniversary or a rare day off where the point is to stretch the calm as long as it'll go, or a body that just takes a while to unwind before the good work can even start. Neither answer is wrong. They're answers to different questions.

Still on the fence? Book the 60. You can ask at the desk whether we've got room to extend on the day — sometimes we do, sometimes the schedule's tight, and it's an easier upgrade than a downgrade. Either way, call us at (818) 540-8060 or reserve online and pick the length that fits the day you're actually having. We're on Kanan Rd, one turn off the 101, open every day from 10 to 9 — towel swan on the table optional, but we do it anyway.

When sixty minutes makes sense

An hour is a practical choice for a first visit, an evening appointment, or a session with one clear priority. Tell your therapist which areas matter most before treatment begins, so the available time matches what you want from the session.

What ninety minutes adds

Ninety minutes allows a slower pace and more time across several areas. It can suit guests who want broad coverage and focused attention without compressing everything into one hour. More time is a preference and scheduling choice, not a guarantee of a better medical result.

Compare the same service at both lengths

Relaxing Massage uses smooth, rhythmic strokes. Deep Tissue is a separate service for sustained pressure. Signature is the premium ritual with aromatherapy, hot stones, warm towels, botanical oils, and a steam eye mask. The prices below list both lengths for each so the price difference is clear.

Shorter and shared appointments

Relaxing and Deep Tissue also come in 30 minutes for a focused visit. Couples services have 60- and 90-minute Relaxing, Deep Tissue, and Signature variants priced for two people. Call first if you want different appointment lengths for two guests.

Common questions

Before you book

Should my first massage ever be a 60 or a 90?
Start with 60. Ninety minutes face-down is a longer stretch than most first-timers expect, and an hour teaches you more about what your body actually wants than guessing at the counter ever will. Book the 90 next time — once you know you like the pressure and you've found the spots worth camping on.
Does a ninety-minute session include more enhancements?
Duration and service type are separate choices. A longer Relaxing or Deep Tissue booking adds time; Signature is the service that explicitly includes its premium rituals.
Is sixty minutes enough for a first visit?
It can be a practical starting point. Explain your priorities and pressure preferences before the session, then decide whether you would prefer a slower or longer visit next time.
How do I book?
